ECWC15 is officially open!

30 Nov 2020

The 15th Electronic Circuits World Convention (ECWC15) is officially open today.

It is the first time for the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA) to host the ECWC. In addition to that, this is also the very first time that the ECWC15 has to go virtual as well as being broadcasted in both English and Chinese.

The event kicked off with a Welcome Speech by Mr. Canice Chung, Chairman of HKPCA. In his opening remark, Mr. Chung added that in-line with the conference theme, “Bridging Technology, Sharing Innovation”, technologies for the printed circuit board industry continues to be driven by 5G high frequency and high speed signal applications, leading to many more opportunities to emerge for high technology PCBs in the coming years. The conference will cover the hottest technologies as well as the latest on the global market trend these 3 days.

ECWC 15 commenced with a keynote speech by Dr. Hayao Nakahara from N.T. Information Ltd,.  He provided a macro overview of the industry with a brief history of PCB and shared technology trend currently popular in the industry.  Another other keynote speaker, Mr Happy Holden from I-Connect007, PCB007 Magazine who presented on the technology of Vertical Conductive Structures (VeCS), which is engineered to increase the densities in the vertical connections. Last but not least, Mr James Tam from Robert Bosch GmbH shared the technology trend of future mobility, such as automated driving and automated parking,  and what PCB manufacturing has to adopt for these new requirements.

After these eye-opening keynote presentations, the afternoon was filled with three technical track sessions, which covered the hottest topics in PCB industry, including PCB material selection, new testing solution, manufacturing process, assembly solution, high frequency, high speed signal application, new equipment technology etc.  Registered participants can revisit the platform and play on demand to view all the presentations again.  Don’t miss the chance, join our Day 2 conference to hear from the best!
